The Memorial of St. Thérèse of Lisieux honours the French Carmelite nun remembered for her simple and profound path of holiness known as the “Little Way.” She taught that ordinary acts, when offered with great love and trust in God, can become a path to sanctity.

St. Thérèse died in 1897 at the age of twenty-four and was later declared a Doctor of the Church. Although she lived a cloistered life, her deep concern for missionary work led to her being named a patron saint of the missions. Her memorial is celebrated each year on October 1.
